What's Been Happening in Room 103

Oh boy! It has been quite awhile since I last posted (beginning of Summer to be specific)! My new pack of first graders are absolutely amazing this year! There are 30 of them... which makes it a bit challenging but completely worth it. Here's a peak inside Room 103 before the kiddo's got there! I am blessed with a GIANT room which makes have the 30 kiddos a little easier!

This is my library! I splurged and invested in all new bins (thank you dollar store) as well as individual book bins for the kiddos from ReallyGoodStuff. Pictured above are my Alphabet Wall Cards

My teacher desk... not as fun as the rest of the classroom!

The math center is in the far corner by the computers. We use the computers for some programs but we are also lucky enough to get iPads twice a week as a class! The bins on the desks I picked up at a local dollar store and that is where I store shared materials (crayons, pencils, glue and scissors) There are 4 sections which forces the kiddos to be organized.

Calendar center! The back circle table is where I do my guided reading groups.

The front of the classroom. The bulletin board  that I made on the back of a book shelf is for class jobs. (had to get creative).

Well that's my classroom... Now here's what we have been up too!

We just wrapped up our number sense unit which featured counting skills to 120. Here are some of the activities we did around those skills!

We matched numbers and number words in these fun puzzles. After they finished matching I challenged them to order them up! This activity and more can be found in my Numbers to 120 pack!

We practiced representing numbers to 20 by "filling up" pencils. This activity is featured in my Back to School math centers but was easy to use again for our Number Sense unit for those kiddo's who needed some more practice for numbers 0-20.

I promise to be better about posting! Now time to relax on this beautiful Fall Sunday and cheer on the Patriots with my family!

Love,
Emily
