See I promised I would get better about posting updates!
Now if you're like me, I'm freaking out right now. I go back to school August 17th for PD and the kids start the following Monday! EEEK. I have SO MUCH TO DO. I go on vacation next week leaving me two days to set up my classroom... I could go in this week but ITS MY BIRTHDAY ON THURSDAY! HAHA... who cares about 24 anyways??
One thing that I have been trying to prep are my back to school math centers which were a huge hit with my firsties last year and I found to be SUPER helpful in getting their brains ready for math again after a few months off.
Also, they were super beneficial in giving something my students could do so that we could learn the rules and expectations of math centers.
Here students will match the tally marks with a number. This was super helpful given that we didn't have much time to really learn tally marks and it helped me do a spot check of who really knew them and who needed a review.
These were such a fun number sense review! We learned these whole group under the mimeo camera of how the puzzle should look all together and then got to work.
My lower kids really needed this... this helped them under stand the numbers. In the packet, there are "erasers" included if you want to use but I found the cubes to be much more time efficient given that I had 32 kids to prep centers for!!
I have also been getting my word wall cards ready. This summer I added sight word cards to match my word wall so my room can be pinterest worthy ;)
These are the word wall cards that match the alphabet cards! I post these on my word wall and then add words as the year goes on. My plan is to print, laminate and use the following sight word cards that match this year! :)

EEK can't believe I'm actually thinking about this right now!! But I am super excited to get back to work, as much as I love my Summer!!
